Kyrgyzstan’s Alysh Team Secures 18 Medals at Asian Championship, Receives Honors

Aybek Abdymomunov Meets with Alysh Belt Wrestling Asian Championship Winners

Today, on May 29, a meeting was held at the Department of Physical Culture and Sports with the winners of the Alysh Belt Wrestling Asian Championship.

The event was attended by:

  • Aybek Abdymomunov, Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, Sports, and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic and Director of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports.
  • Aidarbek Aitmatov, Deputy Director of the National Sports Directorate under the Department.
  • Asian Championship winners and their coaches.

Aybek Abdymomunov congratulated the athletes, emphasizing the significance of their victory:

“Your achievements at the Asian Championship are a great source of pride for us! I hope you continue this path and reach new heights. Most importantly, stay healthy and raise our national flag high at the World Championship. Your contribution to the development of Kyrgyz sports, especially national wrestling, is invaluable.”

In response, the coaches and athletes expressed gratitude for the support from the Department, highlighting the effectiveness of the training camp that was organized in preparation for the championship.

Notably, at the Asian Championship held in Jizzakh, Uzbekistan, the Kyrgyz national team won a total of 18 medals (9 gold, 4 silver, and 5 bronze), securing 2nd place in the team standings.
