The Bishkek Championship in “Alysh” belt wrestling, featuring men and women in the freestyle category, as well as boys and girls, has successfully concluded in the capital city.
The tournament took place in the concert hall of the Kaba Uulu Kojomkul Sports Palace, with over 133 athletes participating from various sports clubs in Bishkek.
Weight Categories:
- Men (18 years and older): 60 kg, 70 kg, 80 kg, 90 kg, 100 kg, +100 kg
- Women (18 years and older): 55 kg, 60 kg, 65 kg, 70 kg, 75 kg, +75 kg
- Boys (born in 2006-2007): 50 kg, 55 kg, 60 kg, 65 kg, 70 kg, 75 kg
- Girls (born in 2006-2007): 40 kg, 45 kg, 50 kg, 55 kg
Prize Fund and Awards:
Athletes who secured top positions were awarded medals, diplomas, trophies, and cash prizes. The total prize fund of the Bishkek Championship amounted to 168,000 Kyrgyz Soms, distributed as follows:
- Men and Women:
- 1st place: 4,000 KGS
- 2nd place: 3,000 KGS
- 3rd place: 2,000 KGS
- Boys and Girls:
- 1st place: 3,000 KGS
- 2nd place: 2,000 KGS
- 3rd place: 1,000 KGS
Purpose of the Championship:
The event aimed to strengthen the Bishkek city team, promote and develop Alysh belt wrestling, enhance athletes’ skills, and encourage a healthy lifestyle.
The championship was supported by the Department of Culture, Sports, Tourism, and Youth Affairs of the Bishkek Mayor’s Office and the National Federation of Alysh Belt Wrestling of the Kyrgyz Republic.
